What: The 26th Annual Joplin PoPs

Where: On the oval at Missouri Southern State University. In case of rain, the program will be presented in Taylor Performing Arts Center at MSSU.

When: Friday, June 23, 8 pm.

How: Tickets are $12 in advance, $15 at the gate, children under 12 are free. Tickets are available at Famous Barr, Customer Service, Northpark Mall, Joplin; Ernie Williamson Music House at 925 South Rangeline in Joplin and at Hometown Bank Locations in Carthage, Neosho, Oronogo, Pineville and Joplin, All Things Grand in Carthage and Cleo’s Framing and Design, Joplin.

Pro Musica is a not for profit corporation that brings world class classical music to Joplin. Pro Musica is supported by individual contributions, corporate and business sponsors, area foundations and a grant from the Missouri Arts Council, a state agency.

Comment: The Overland Park Civic Band will perform Broadway Show music, light classics, marches and other concert favorites. Featured on the evening program will be Sherry Jones, one of Kansas City’s favorite cabaret singers, and Skip Hawkins, one of Kansas City’s top alto saxophone performers.

Take-Away-Cafe and Deli de Jour in Joplin are offering special picnic menus for those who order in advance.

The audience should bring their own seating and enjoy an evening of beautiful music under the stars.
