Annie Moses Band To Present Concert at Ozark Christian College

Ozark Christian College is proud to host the Annie Moses Band, on their campus at 1111 N. Main, on March 14, at 10:00 AM.  The lead singer/violinist is Annie Wolaver who has studied at Vanderbilt University’s Blair School of Music and The Juilliard School of Music.  Her brothers and sisters, Alex, Benjamin, Camille, Gretchen and Jeremiah and her parents, Bill and Robin Wolaver, make up the team along with a guitarist and drummer.
Robin (Donica) Wolaver is a professional lyricist/singer, and a former music instructor at Ozark Christian College.  Bill is a professional songwriter/arranger and jazz pianist.
The band has been touring for several years and audiences across the United States have been responding enthusiastically to the group’s revolutionary fusion of styles as a “completely new kind of music” and “very refreshing.”
The AMB’s album, Eden, the most eclectic of the group’s albums, hit bookstores last July.  It features the wide variety of sounds and styles that make up the Annie Moses Band, including plenty of bravura, jazz-fusion, a little bluegrass and even the blues.  Their latest offering is a Christmas album with a deeply spiritual message, Bethlehem, House of Bread, which was released in October.
In a recent article in Strings Magazine, with Annie Wolaver on the cover, they are described as a “Juilliard-trained Nashville band blending chamber music and inspirational messages.”
Originally on a classical career path, with the children all enrolled at the Juilliard’s pre-college division, they took a hard look at their music and decided to make some changes.  Annie says about this change, “I came to see that the opportunities were few and the demographic was small in classical music.  So we decided to take all this training and combine is with accessibility, faith, generational unity and all those things that are part of our family structure.”
Strings Magazine says about the Annie Moses Band, “The fact that the AMB has brought something new - chamber music that testifies to the tune of classical string performance – should inspire us all.”
The community is invited to come and hear this tremendously talented family, free of charge.  For directions or more information, please call 417.624.2518 (X2105).
