JUNE 27, SEDALIA MO— Country music stars Big & Rich are “Comin’ To Your City” and taking it by storm. This freaky and fun duo promises to put “a little bang in your yin yang” at the 2006 Missouri State Fair.
The fun will shine long into the night on Saturday, August 19th when Big & Rich take center stage in the Pepsi Grandstand. “Comin’ To Your City” is a wide-ranging and widescreen tour de force – all the way from the willfully weird opening of “The Freak Parade,” one of the duo’s characteristically funny but true statements of purpose, to “8th of November,” easily the most powerful and serious song they’ve brought the world yet.
Warming up the spotlight will be Cowboy Troy. This six-foot five-inch, hick-hop artist rapped his way into the country mainstream on the first cut of Big & Rich’s 2004 debut “Horse of a Different Color.” Troy’s own debut album “Loco Motive” pushes the envelope, but there’s no arguing the fact that, thematically, it’s a country record. Honkytonk rockers like “My Last Yee Haw” and emotional ballads and slice-of-life tales like “Crick In My Neck,” are all drawn from Troy’s own experiences.
