ARTIST PAUL MOORE CREATES BRONZE
SCULPTURE FOR CAMPUS

Ozark Christian College is proud to announce the addition of a new bronze sculpture, “The Sower,” on their campus at 1111 N. Main.  The nine foot high statue has been installed on the hillside overlooking the recent extension of the Dining Hall.

Paul Moore, of Crown Arts, Inc., Norman, Oklahoma, is the artist who designed and crafted the piece of art.  Moore, a native of Oklahoma, is recognized both nationally and internationally for his portraits and monumental works.  His work is in many prominent institutions with portraits in the Smithsonian's National Portrait Gallery and in the U.S. Capital Art Collection, as well as numerous corporate, private and international collections.
Currently Moore is creating the largest bronze monument in history.  It will commemorate the 100th anniversary of the State of Oklahoma and will depict the great land rush of 1889.  It will take ten years for the monument to be fully completed and will reside in a new park in Oklahoma City, which is being built to display the monument.
A devoted Christian couple that was familiar with the work of Mr. Moore conceived the idea for the statue.  OCC is very grateful for the generosity of this couple in providing an outstanding piece of art as a perpetual symbol of the mission and ministry of the school.
A Dedication Service for the Dining Hall expansion and addition of “The Sower” will take place on Wednesday, February 22, at 3:15 PM on the Dining Hall patio.
The Joplin community is invited to help celebrate this new work of art on the college campus.  For more information, please call 624-2518 (ext 2105).
