Loretta Lynn

November 5

American country music legend Loretta Lynn will perform live in concert at 7 p.m., Nov. 5, at the Osage Event Center. Tickets starting at $30 are available at the event center box office. Call the box office at 699-7667 or visit the Osage Million Dollar Elm casino for tickets. Starting with her 1971 hit, “You’re Looking At Country,” the strong, independent, hardcore honky-tonk singer has won four Grammy Awards, seven American Music Awards, and 10 Academy of Country Music Awards with hits such as “When the Tingle Becomes a Chill (1975) and “You Ain’t Woman Enough to Take My Man.” Lynn’s first song ever to hit the Billboard Charts was “Honky Tonk Girl” 50 years ago. Her famous tune “Coal Miner’s Daughter,” was the title of her 1976 autobiography that was later made into an Academy Award-winning film starring Sissy Spacek. On Oct. 12 this year, Loretta Lynn will be honored in a GRAMMY Salute To Country Music at Ryman Auditorium in Nashville, Tenn. The star-studded tribute will feature a special presentation of The Recording Academy President’s Merit Award to three-time GRAMMY® winner and Recording Academy Lifetime Achievement Award recipient Loretta Lynn in honor of her dynamic career and contributions to country music. Lynn teamed up with White Stripes guitarist Jack White in 2004, who produced a two-time GRAMMY-winning album Van Lear Rose
