Missouri State Park Advisory Board Will Meet July 21

JEFFERSON CITY, MO, JULY 10, 2006 -- The Missouri State Park Advisory Board will meet Friday, July 21, at the Thiebaud Auditorium in Lamar. The meeting will begin at 8:30 a.m. at the auditorium, located at 105 E. 11th St. and the public is encouraged to attend and participate.

The board, which was appointed by the governor to advise the Missouri Department of Natural Resources on issues relating to state parks, will receive updates on the division's budget and legislative issues. A report will be given on the status of the redevelopment planning efforts for Johnson's Shut-Ins State Park near Lesterville, and the conceptual development plan for Bollinger Mill State Historic Site near Burfordville. Discussion items will include an update on the status of displaying flags at historic sites and a policy on cell tower locations. There also will be reports from the Missouri Parks Association and the Missouri State Parks Foundation.
